Welcome to the Scriptures with Ebonics page.... Here you will find many words that have been changed from We are to "We Be" and many other oddities. You will see the obvious changes to each scripture and when trying to read it doesn't sound right and can often be difficult due to the wording.

Take a look below at the following scriptures and open your eyes to the clearly visible changes taking place in our bibles.

  • Genesis 13:8

And Abram said unto Lot, Let there be no strife, I pray thee, between me and thee, and between my herdmen and thy herdmen; for we be brethren.

Holman Christian Standard Bible

Then Abram said to Lot, "Please, let's not have quarreling between you and me, or between your herdsmen and my herdsmen, since we are relatives

  • Genesis 34:15

But in this will we consent unto you: If ye will be as we be, that every male of you be circumcised;

Holman Christian Standard Bible

We will agree with you only on this condition: if all your males are circumcised as we are.

  • Genesis 42:32

We be twelve brethren, sons of our father; one is not, and the youngest is this day with our father in the land of Canaan.

Holman Christian Standard Bible

We were 12 brothers, sons of the same father. One is no longer living, and the youngest is now with our father in the land of Canaan.

  • Exodus 12:33

And the Egyptians were urgent upon the people, that they might send them out of the land in haste; for they said, We be all dead men.

New American Standard Bible

The Egyptians urged the people, to send them out of the land in haste, for they said, "We will all be dead."

  • Numbers 13:31

But the men that went up with him said, We be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we.

But the men who had gone up with him said, "We are not able to go up against the people, for they are too strong for us."

  • Numbers 21:22

Let me pass through thy land: we will not turn into the fields, or into the vineyards; we will not drink of the waters of the well: but we will go along by the king's highway, until we be past thy borders.

"Let me pass through your land. We will not turn off into field or vineyard; we will not drink water from wells. We will go by the king's highway until we have passed through your border."

  • Numbers 14:40

And they rose up early in the morning, and gat them up into the top of the mountain, saying, Lo, we be here, and will go up unto the place which the LORD hath promised: for we have sinned.

English Standard Version

And they rose early in the morning and went up to the heights of the hill country, saying, "Here we are. We will go up to the place that the LORD has promised, for we have sinned."

  • Joshua 9:6

And they went to Joshua unto the camp at Gilgal, and said unto him, and to the men of Israel, We be come from a far country: now therefore make ye a league with us.

New American Standard Bible

They went to Joshua to the camp at Gilgal and said to him and to the men of Israel, "We have come from a far country; now therefore, make a covenant with us."

  • 1 Samuel 23:3

And David's men said unto him, Behold, we be afraid here in Judah: how much more then if we come to Keilah against the armies of the Philistines?

New American Standard Bible

But David's men said to him, "Behold, we are afraid here in Judah. How much more then if we go to Keilah against the ranks of the Philistines?"

  • 2 Kings 7:12

And the king arose in the night, and said unto his servants, I will now shew you what the Syrians have done to us. They know that we be hungry; therefore are they gone out of the camp to hide themselves in the field, saying, When they come out of the city, we shall catch them alive, and get into the city.

New American Standard Bible

Then the king arose in the night and said to his servants, "I will now tell you what the Arameans have done to us. They know that we are hungry; therefore they have gone from the camp to hide themselves in the field, saying, 'When they come out of the city, we will capture them alive and get into the city.'"

 

  • Ezekiel 11:3

Which say, It is not near; let us build houses: this city is the caldron, and we be the flesh.

New American Standard Bible

who say, 'Is not the time near to build houses? This city is the pot and we are the flesh.'

 

  • John 8:41

Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God.

New American Standard Bible

"You are doing the deeds of your father." They said to Him, "We were not born of fornication; we have one Father: God."

 

  • Romans 3:8

And not rather, (as we be slanderously reported, and as some affirm that we say,) Let us do evil, that good may come? whose damnation is just.

Holman Christian Standard Bible

And why not say, just as some people slanderously claim we say, "Let us do what is evil so that good may come"? Their condemnation is deserved!

  • Romans 6:8

Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:

New American Standard Bible

Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him

  • 1 Corinthians 12:13

For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one Spirit.

  • 2 Corinthians 1:6

And whether we be afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effectual in the enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer: or whether we be comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation.

But if we are afflicted, it is for your comfort and salvation; or if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which is effective in the patient enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer

  • 2 Corinthians 5:13

For whether we be beside ourselves, it is to God: or whether we be sober, it is for your cause.

Holman Christian Standard Bible

For if we are out of our mind, it is for God; if we have a sound mind, it is for you.

  • 2 Corinthians 10:11

Let such an one think this, that, such as we are in word by letters when we are absent, such will we be also in deed when we are present.

New American Standard Bible

Let such a person consider this, that what we are in word by letters when absent, such persons we are also in deed when present.

  • 2 Timothy 2:11

It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him:

Holman Christian Standard Bible

This saying is trustworthy: For if we have died with Him, we will also live with Him

More Ebonic Scripture changes

The following file provided by Bill himself, has additional scripture changes that contain Ebonics in them.

These bible changes are blasphemous and a bit complicated to read as these are bible verses that never used to read this way. Where it should say WE ARE or WE WERE, etc, we now have things like WE BE, etc. The list he has put together contain additional bible verses that have been altered and never used to read the way they are now.
